John A. Decker, Jr., PhD

Strategic Impact Unlimited was founded in March 1982 to provide management focus for business and nonprofit organizations. We specialize in strategic planning, organizational effectiveness, business & operational plans, new business development, board development, mission impact and mission-related revenue generation for clients in Hawaii and on the mainland. Previous full-time consulting as Director of Physics of Cambridge, MA, consulting firm Comstock & Wescott, from 1967 through 1971.

Professional Experience
Founder and Chairman of Kuau Technology, Ltd., dba RainSong Graphite Guitars, from July 1982 to the present. KTL originally developed the COMPUSIGHT® automatic marine sextant, but since 1991 has been exclusively involved in developing, manufacturing and marketing the RainSong® guitar. Additional experience includes:
• Managing Director, AVCO Research Lab/Maui, Puunene, HI;
• Manager, Corporate Planning, Spire Corporation, Bedford, MA;
• Engineering Manager, Varian Vacuum Division, Lexington, MA;
• Founder, President and CEO, Spectral Imaging, Inc., Concord, MA; and
• Research Physicist for the Sperry Rand Research Lab, Sudbury, MA, and
the Aerospace Research Lab, Wright-Patterson AFB, OH (as 1st LT, USAF).

Married 1957 to Linda McCullough; daughter Sarah, born 1967, married Ashvin Coomar 1994; two grandchildren, Alanson Coomar, born 1997 and Alena Coomar, born 1999.
